It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stewart Woolgar on Thursday 5th August.

“Woolie” joined the Albion in October 1969 and made his debut versus Manchester United in October 1972, coming on as a second half substitute. He made 6 appearances of which 3 were as a substitute.

Stewart left us in July 1974 for Doncaster Rovers but remained an Albion fan until his passing.

He will be sadly missed by all his friends and colleagues, a popular member of the Association, as he was a regular attendee at our AGM and alongside his granddaughter Maddie in the Regis Suite on many a match day. We never got him to a Golf Day though as he spent much of the summer at his holiday home in Turkey.

Stewart had been unwell for the last year and due to covid restrictions we had not had the pleasure of catching up with him.

Our sincere condolences go to his wife Christine, sons Russell and Matthew, daughter in law Annie, grandchildren Maddie, JJ & Jack, and great grandchild Henry.

RIP STEWART
