He played for 4 Midland Clubs so when it was suggested we play a golf competition for a trophy named after the big man it needed someone to organise the event. Step forward Albion fan Neil Bettridge of Amros Golf Promotions.
Wolves Former Players Association, Villa 40 (1981-2 League Winners ) and ourselves agreed to participate, a venue chosen and the Regis Trophy commissioned.
Sutton Coldfield Golf Club is difficult at anytime but in September it is a challenge and the 3 Clubs were happy to take on that task to be the inaugural winners of the Regis Trophy.

7 teams from each club, including a former player, performed to the best of their ability and at the end of 18 holes of golf the 7 scores were added together to get the winners.
It is fitting therefore that the Regis Trophy will sit pride of place in the Suite named after him for the next 12 months.
Our teams were:
West Midland Safari Park including Peter Odemwingie 76 pts
CPC Civils Ltd with Kevin Summerfield 83 pts
Bache Pallets and Chris Brunt 81 pts
Quattro Properties with Don Goodman 89 pts
Solihull Roofing and Ray Wilson 73 pts
M3 Agency including Joe Mayo 89 pts
FPA with Norman Westbury, David Ashman, Geoff Snape & Mark Grew 77 pts
Our thanks to all who took part and to Neil Bettridge for the organisation, a superb day and we look forward to defending the Regis Trophy in 2022.
