“The Association members hit the streets around the Hawthorns on Good Friday, doing ‘God’s work’ collecting monies for local charities on behalf of the Albion Foundation.
Ably led by Secretary Geoff Snape, our members, Mark Grew, Paul Raven, Ally Robertson, Wayne Hughes and Paul Mardon, shook the buckets vigorously around the Shrine before the kick-off against Blackpool, with great assistance from willing helpers Sue Ball and Steve Mole.
Once their ‘mission’ had been completed, they all retired to the Regis Suite to enjoy the game along with Association veteran Ray Fairfax, whilst the other ‘on duty’ members Steve Lillwall, Darren Bradley, Nigel Quashie and Des Lyttle, performed their match day duties in the various East Stand suites.
With the team winning 2-1 courtesy of a late, late winner from Karlan Grant, the day was indeed a veritable success”
