Former Players and family & friends of Bobby turned up at Handsworth Golf Club on Thursday 14th September to compete for the Bobby Hope Memorial Trophy.
This year we increased the numbers to 5 pairs per side so it could be played Ryder Cup style. The day again was most enjoyable with everyone playing in the spirit in which Bobby would have enjoyed, competitive but with the banter that he so much enjoyed.

Handsworth Golf Club was superb and the catering excellent. Our thanks to Albion fan John Nicholls for arranging everything at the Golf Club.
Lucy Burnip from The Stroke Association was present to receive a cheque from Laurie Rampling for £3000 from the sales of his Bobby Hope Book. This is a magnificent amount, brilliant our photographer friend. Bobby’s wife Carol, son Adam were also included in the presentation, it was good to see Carol coming along. A further £400 was raised from the day which will also go to The Stroke Association.
The match ended in an honourable draw 2-5-2.5. Trophy shared. Laurie Rampling on hand to present the trophy to Jamie Hope & Ray Wilson.
Family and friends included both sons Adam & Jamie, friends Ross, Andy, stepson of Ronnie Allen Charles Henn-Allen, Albion supporters John Nicholls & Mac McQuirk plus former Albion Doctor Rick Jarrams.
The former players were represented by Ray Wilson, Don Goodman, Mark Grew, Joe Mayo, Mick Fudge, Nick Cross, Dave Butler, Norman Westbury, Geoff Snape & David Ashman, son of 1968 FA Cup Winning Manager Alan.
Memorable day fitting for a great friend.
