The Bristol connection loomed large upon entering the Richardson Suite. Bob Taylor who was looking after our Sponsors and Box Holders alongside Albion fan Gary Hackett joined us from City. Another who played for City before coming to The Hawthorns was Paul Mardon who along with Rovers fan Andy Johnson were entertaining the Club’s guests in the various Hospitality suites. Andy really enjoyed the occasion being a Rovers fan and family members, who were guests in the Regis suite had to suffer his banter post match after The Albion had walked away with all 3 points.

It was a pleasure to see Paul, Bob, Andy & Gary representing the Former Players Association on match day hospitality duties.

In the Regis Suite we welcomed guests from Bristol City Foundation who really enjoyed the hospitality, though the result did not please them. Also in the Suite were members of the Association, Administrator Geoff Snape, Treasurer Norman Westbury, former player Ally Robertson along with another Bristolian in Mickey Fudge, It was a pleasure to welcome Footballer/Cricketer and former keeper Jim Cumbes who made his annual trip from Cheshire to entertain his great friend Brian, aged 87, who had supported The Albion since a young boy. The Suite is a great venue for our members to enjoy games at the same time meeting colleagues and bringing guests to enjoy the experience.

Another cap was duly presented to the family of a former player. At half time Gavin Haynes was presented with Cap no 18 by Ally Robertson. No 18 belonged to George Haynes who made his debut back in 1888, he was a member of our first Football League side, a very historical presentation.

3 more points towards our target of getting involved in the end of season play offs.
