Several months ago, I walked away from Southampton Football Club, ready to sling it all in after being bashed about yet again, by football morons, thinking to myself “I love what I do, but if I’m going to make 80 years of age, I’ve got to knock this on the head”
Well, come August when ‘the beautiful game’ now gets back into full swing, I guess those bad memories just fade away somewhat, and after talking to Ian Skidmore, having full support of the club, and worked out a plan of action for the new 2024/25 season,………

I “W…as….B…ack….A…gain”…amongst great friends in both the Regis Suite with Geoff, Ray, Norman and Ally and of course other great friends and before that back in the Richardson Suite yesterday with great mates Super Kevin Donovan, and the equally super Paul Robinson, Darryl Burgess and Andy Johnson, re-kindling old memories that make the nightmare at Southampton a distant aberration!.
It was also heartwarming as ever, to walk around our magnificent stadium and catch up with so many old friends who always make my Albion matchday experience an absolute thrill. Quite honestly, I don’t know what life would be like without it.
Thanks to everyone who said “Hello. How are you” yesterday.
It was also Wonderful to be pitchside before the game with the Former Players to say a fond “Farewell’ to our great pals Craig Shakespeare and ‘King Kevin’ Campbell who sadly passed away recently, and of course it goes without saying we will miss them badly. I also hope we did their memories proud in this seasons superb matchday programme yesterday.
Back to the Regis Suite, to catch up with Simon Leary and his Leeds United mates, as well as the PFA Leeds United contingent, Gentlemen it was indeed a privilege, on a day that may not have produced any goals, but certainly produced many NEW memories!
Bless you all!
