It’s not often that we have the pleasure of welcoming back THREE former Hawthorns heroes on one night, but for the recent game against Middlesbrough The Hawthorns was quite literally lit up with the presence of 1993 Wembley hero Andy Hunt, as well as Great Escape hero Paul Robinson, who would also help to nudge Albion over the line in 2008 of course, along with his great mate and goalscoring genius, super ‘Kev’ himself, Kevin Phillips. Whilst Paul and Andy were guests in the Regis Suite, Kevin, ‘on matchday’ duty for the very first time, ‘wowed’ the guests in the Richardson suite, and was then introduced to the fans pitchside at half time, and presented with his club cap by ‘Robbo’ during the interval.
The night didn’t end well of course, with ‘Boro sneaking a win, but to see three great friends return, was perhaps the bonus that the football couldn’t quite give us.
Unfortunately our former manager Tony Mowbray was scheduled to be with us as well as the three ‘legends’, but Tony had to pull out due to illness, and the Former Players Association and its members wish Tony a speedy recovery, and an invitation to join us in the Regis Suite when he has returned to full fitness.
