Defeat at home to Sunderland, certainly took the edge off an otherwise excellent week-end, gievn we had the privilege to present caps to former players Marion Bortolazzi, who signed for Alnion, from his native Italia, as well as Enzo Maresca in 1998, and Graham Fenton, the young Aston Villa junior who stormed into The Hawthorns scoribg three excllent goals in a seven game loan spell in January and February 1994. We thank them both for their service, and re-affirm our gratitute that they chose The Throstles!
Also on duty at The Hawthorns, were Andy Hunt, over from Amsterdam, Gary Hackett, Paul Mardon, who kindly did the honours presenting both caps on behalf of the club and the Former Players Association, Dave Butler, Ray Wilson, Ally Robertson, Andy Johnson and former player/manager Brian Talbot on scouting duties for Premier League Fulham.
