I don’t really know where to start, to describe yesterdays ‘day out’ at The Hawthorns. For me the sole purpose was to see all my friends once again, and present club caps to former players Dick Kryzwicki and Bobby Gould, along with my ‘usual’ former players duties.

Well, I have to admit, it turned into a somewhat ‘Shrine carnival’ picking up the star of the show Bobby Gould from the Graham Williams suite, where the two ‘Welsh’ heroes (Gouldy did manage the men in red you may remember) were enjoying each others company. That was after meeting Sean, Joe, Jacko, Dan, Curts Mick and the team in the dressing room area, to pick up my new top, I can now be ‘officially one of the lads for 2025/26’…..then catching up with Bernie McNally, Steve Lillwall and ‘Captain’ Paul Mardon in the East stand ahead of their marchday duries for the association.
However, with all due respects to all those great lads, the star of the afternoon has to be Gouldy. he didn’t stop smiling and laughing all day, and the Halfords Lane faithful were magnificent in their appreciation of Bobby and of course Dick Kryzwicki, both Albion heroes receiving their club caps from Albion’s ‘hero of heroes’ Tony Brown before kick-off.
It didn’t stop there, the carnival continued in the Regis suite with Micky Fudge, Gouldy and Andy Johnson, three proud Bristolians, together in one room….I mean….those boys know how to enjoy themselves, and I think the guests of the association on such an afternoon had more than their moneysworth, especially when Chairman Ray Wilson and Wembley hero Dennis Clarke, joined the festivities.. I can’t remember having so much fun for a long time, so thanks for that gentlemen, especially you Gouldy, you were without doubt the prefect jester on the perfect afternoon…..apart from the result….but Albion are still unbeaten and seven points from a possible nine. Aint all bad is it! Enjoy this gallery.
