The visit of Oxford United to The Hawthorns on Saturday last brought mixed emotions to Albion fans I’m sure, with the heroes of 1993 all on duty in the East stand suites, Bob Taylor, Andy Hunt , Darryl Burgess and Steve Lillwall, together once again to entertain the Albion corporate guests before the game.
In the Regis Suite Chairman Ray Wilson, Secretary Geoff Snape and Treasurer Norman Westbury were joined by former player Micky Perry, and other guests, whilst former club skipper Chris Brunt was on hand pitch side at half time to present a club cap to the Daughter of former player and war hero Harold White, who played at The Hawthorns before and during the second World War, distinguishing himself in action. Chris also accepted another War Hero’s framed cap presentation, that of Lt Harold Godfrey Bache who perished on the Somme in 1916, from Albion celebrity Dave Heeley, and will of course be displayed in the ground moving forward.
