Our 21st Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday 14th March at The Hawthorns prior to the game versus Hull City.
An Association that was founded 23 years ago has thrived thanks to the support of its members and once again that was shown by 27 turning up, including two travelling down from Scotland and our President flying over from his home in Spain.
The meeting was swiftly concluded without any concern including the acceptance of the Association’s new constitution gratefully drawn up by our friend of many years Peter Millichip, to whom we are extremely grateful.
An excellent lunch was provided in the Richardson Suite, QA was done by Brian Talbot, a first time attendee and Paul Raven, whilst the Sponsors and Box Holders were looked after by Daryl Burgess and Andy Hunt.
Saturday was Foundation Day. Andy Johnson decided it would be a good idea to have his head shaved to raise funds for the Foundation. Andy has a penchant for barbeques and has been known to burn his hair rather than visit the barbers. So along with Barber Boss Uk providing the shaver, our President Brendon Batson had the pleasure of removing Andy’s hair in a safer fashion than his occasional unsafe manner.
As part of Foundation Day, a team of former players took on the challenge of walking football against the Foundation Kick cancer team. It was great fun and as Daryl said, “So difficult not to run”. It seemed to entertain those fans who took the time to watch.
The game itself was terrific, certainly the best so far this campaign, a 3 nil victory was well deserved. This capped off an excellent day.
