On the formation of the Former Players Association 22 years ago, one ally we had in the Boardroom over the years was Joe Brandrick. Joe an Albion man in every way, someone who supported the Association in so many ways, whose support never wavered and whose friendship our members respected.

So, when he presented us with a Golf Trophy, we had to honour his memory in the best way possible. So off we go, annually, to one of Wales finest golf courses Aberdovey, based on the West coast overlooking Cardigan Bay.

Early October saw a dozen members of the Association and 4 guests meet for 2 days of links golf. A Team event on the Monday afternoon to warm up followed by the real thing Tuesday morning, The Joe Brandrick Trophy.

It is not an easy course hence so many close scores.
