In 1982 Arrow released HOT HOT HOT., 43 years later that was apt on one of the hottest days of the year, it was certainly the hottest Former Player Golf Day in the 23 years we have been coming to Walsall Golf Club.
That same year Gary Owen was a central figure in an exciting team that got to the FA Cup semi-final, sadly Gary was left out on that day but on Monday he was at the forefront of a very successful golf day.

20 Teams participated in a day, once again sponsored by Con Cunningham’s CPC CIVILS LTD. We welcomed two new teams, Dartmouth put together by Roy Rai & Green & Yellow Away, comprising of Jon Pugh and friends from Walsall Golf Club. We also welcomed two new former players to the day, Andy Hunt and David Rushbury.
The recent hot weather and lack of rain meant the course conditions were testing but as usual the catering was superb. Our thanks to everyone at Walsall Golf Club.
The warm evening saw our guests entertained by John Homer and the effervescent Gary Owen. You could not keep Gary down.
