At home with Burnley

The beautiful game is back….the visit of Burnley , relegated last year from the Premiership, was certainly an appropriate appetiser for the new campaign, and a sizzling performance from James Morrison’s team, has certainly got the place buzzing again.

Apart from the stunning 3-q victory over the Clarets, the company we also shared in the Corporate and Regis Suites was indeed a stella opening to the new campaign with what can only be described as ‘Hawthorns Royalty’ visiting the Shrine for the season’s opener.

Phil Gilchrist, Gary Hackett, Darryl Burgess, an the ‘Beast’ himself, Brian Jensen were on duty in the Richardson and other suites, with Brian, who of course also played for Burnley, being presented with his club cap by Darryl Burgess pitchside at half time.

In the Regis Suite it was also ‘Royalty’ all the way, with Darren Moore joining Association President Brendon Batson and Chairman Ray Wilson for the afternoon along with new Treasurer ‘elect’ Derek Monaghan joining Secretary Geoff Snape, outgoing Treasurer Norman Westbury and Dave Butler, with cameo visits from the ‘one and only’ Tony Brown and Sky TV’s finest Don Goodman.
